presenting his version of events
surrounding a former Christiansburg
High School teacher.

Sheriff Tommy Whitt says Montgomery

County schools informed him of the
incident in early January and assured
him Christiansburg police were already
investigating.

However, Christiansburg police say they
found out about this case on their own.

35 year-old Timothy Alan Glover of
Shawsville was arrested back on January
27th by the Montgomery County sheriff's
office.

The former Christiansburg High School
teacher was charged with having
consensual sex with a child over 15.

Glover actually resigned in November
after the Montgomery County school
system investigated the relationship.

Christiansburg Police didn't start
their own investigation until January.

Police say they didn't find out about
the school board's allegations against
Glover until after they received a
runaway case filed about the girl.

Sheriff Whitt says the Montgomery
County school system should have been

handled the case more directly to avoid
any confusion.

died, Bedford County authorities are
still trying to figure out what
happened to Reuben Fonseca.

Police estimate he died five months
earlier, probably around June 17th ...
that's the day his car was towed from

last night on Patterson Avenue in
Roanoke.

Last Night Firefighters broke a downstairs

window and pulled one man to safety,
and then continued their search for
another person inside.

The second victim was
resuscitated at the scene and taken to
Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Fire crews also rescued the dog,
providing oxygen until animal control
officers arrived and carried the animal
to an emergency veterinarian.

January 27 A fire last month in Roanoke
has been ruled an arson.

Witnesses told News Seven
they saw juveniles running from the
vacant house on Campbell Avenue the
night of January 27th.

Investigators have NOT been
able to find the cause of another fire
that same day.

Early on the morning of the

27th, a home on Day Avenue burned, and
nearly caught neighboring homes on fire
as well.

Mayor was addressing the crowded
council chamber.

Mayor Nelson Harris had warned
the crowd he would not tolerate
personal comments directed at city
officials.

Several people testified today

out of turn during the meeting.

Howard's attorney, David Nixon,
argued Howard was a victim of selective
enforcement.

drafting - which has gotten out of hand
accoring to champion Tony Stewart and
others.


Bump drafting is when a car
intentionally hits the one in front of
it to keep from losing momentum.

It's been done for years on the
straightaways, but last year and
already during Speedweeks 2006 - some
of the young guns decided to try it in
the corners.

NASCAR will have "bump draft"
cops in the corners feeding them
information and if a driver messes up
he will be penalized with something
like a stop and go penalty.

1997 For those of you who don't :00 remember - Staples helped lead Patrick
Henry to the state Group Three A title
in 1992.

He then went onto UVa following a
season at Oak Hill and blistered the
ACC. He not only set the NCAA record
for three pointers made with 413, but

he attempted 1,079 of them.

He led the nation in 1997-98 with
a school-record 130 three-point field
goals, and led the ACC in threes all
four of his seasons at Virginia.

Staples finished his UVa career
ranked eighth on the school's all-time
scoring list with 1,757 points.
