Blacksburg vs. Pulaski Co. Before there was J.J. or Curtis :00 Staples - Blacksburg coach Doug Day was
the three point king in the nation
while at RU, so you knew he might have
something in mind for the regular
season champs from Pulaski.

The Bruins just outhustling the
Cougars on a number of plays including
this one as Tyler Holmes finishes off
the break. The Bruins had a double
digit lead in the third quarter.

But Jared King brought Pulaski
back in the fourth quarter this three
pointer made it a one point game with
six minutes to play. *CG final Blacksburg
61 It was tied with the clock Pulaski Co. ticking down and that's when Holmes 58 kicked it out to Daniel Mitch. His
three hits nothing but net with 1 point

8 seconds to go - as Blacksburg wins it
61-to-58 and earns a spot in the

OQ=Hometown Hoops Weekly, < (END SOT) Eagles leading scorer averaging 14

points per game. But what can't be
measured on a stat sheet is the size of
Ferrell's heart. Born with what's
known as a brachial plexus injury, he
suffered damage to the nerves in his
right shoulder and arm, which prevents
him from extending that arm or lifting
it above his head.

TRAE:

Ferrell hasn't allowed his arm to slow
him down in the least bit, displaying
perhaps the best work ethic of any
player on the Roanoke Valley Christian
School team. Trae is just one of the
guys, especially when he takes the
court.

TRAE:

What is a big deal to Trae is the fact
that he's embraced the opportunity to
encourage others with limitations
through his situation.

BARRY DANIEL:

TRAE:

Ferrell is also a standout soccer
player who hopes to continue that
endeavor at Liberty University in the
fall. Travis Wells, Hometown Hoops

program.

75 fiber glass birds will be
decorated and painted by local artists

The first bird was put up today

Blacksburg is hoping the birds
will become a local tourist attraction
