the private school ranks, the VIC
tourney starts next week. Roanoke
Valley Christian School will likely not
win the championship. In fact, the
Eagles don't even have a winning
record. But in the latest installment
of Hometown Hoops Weekly, Travis Wells
explains how senior guard Trae Ferrell
is inspiring his teammates and
opponents with a winning attitude,
despite some physical limitations.

(END SOT) Eagles leading scorer averaging 14
points per game. But what can't be
measured on a stat sheet is the size of
Ferrell's heart. Born with what's
known as a brachial plexus injury, he
suffered damage to the nerves in his
right shoulder and arm, which prevents
him from extending that arm or lifting
it above his head.
TRAE:
Ferrell hasn't allowed his arm to slow
him down in the least bit, displaying
perhaps the best work ethic of any
player on the Roanoke Valley Christian
School team. Trae is just one of the
guys, especially when he takes the
court.
TRAE:
What is a big deal to Trae is the fact
that he's embraced the opportunity to
encourage others with limitations
through his situation.

Ferrell is also a standout soccer
player who hopes to continue that
endeavour at Liberty University in the
