asked city council for money to pay for
the new stadium at Patrick Henry High
School.

stadium will be built.

First the school system will hold
three meetings within the next month so

the community can give input on what
the outside of the stadium should look
like.

Also within the next month or so,
council will vote whether to
appropriate 4 point one million dollars
to pay for the stadium.

If that's approved, actual site work
can get underway.

looking for anyone who has information
about a Roanoke man's death last year.

November, 2005 25-year-old Ruben Fonseca's
remains were found in a field near
Montvale last November.

Authorities figure he'd been
dead since June 17th ... the day his
car was towed from the same area.

The medical examiner could not
determine how Fonseca died, althought
toxicology reports are not back yet.

Investigators want anyone who
might have seen Fonseca that day or
know something about the case to call
them at the Bedford County Sheriff's
Office.

doctor for 18-years.

But, when his heart failed in
1999, Phillips became a patient and
signed up for a heart transplant.

He waited three years on a
national donor list before he was

Senate's plan to raise nearly a billion
dollars a year for transportation
yesterday.

unanimously passed the plan which calls
for an increase in the gas tax.

Motorists, however, could be
refunded if they save their receipts.

The plan also calls for an
increase in the car- sales tax and
vehicle registration fees.

Bad drivers would be fined and
real estate agents assessed higher
taxes on the property they sell.

Supporters say the money is
necessary to support a modern
transportation system.

The bi- partisan plan has
received criticism from House leaders
who say they won't endorse any plan
that raises taxes in a time of surplus.

A few members of the Finance
committee expressed their own concerns
with the plan, but voted for it anyway
to show a united front on the issue.

School teacher is charged with having
sex with a student.

Now the Montgomery County Sheriff
speaks out.

Sheriff Tommy Whitt says
Montgomery County Schools informed him
of the incident in early January and
told him Christiansburg Police were
already investigating.

35 year-old Timothy Allen Glover
of Shawsville was arrested on January
27-th by the Montgomery County

Sheriff's Office.

The former Christiansburg
teacher was charged with having
consensual sex with a child over 15.

Glover resigned in November after
the School System investigated the
relationship.

Christiansburg Police say they
didn't find out about the school
allegations until after they received a
runaway case file about the girl.

Sheriff Whitt says Montgomery
County Schools should have contacted
the appropriate authorities right away.

yesterday where he laid out his plan to
raise money to fix transportation
problems.

Breaking his plan down into
dollars, Governor Kaine says the
average driver's insurance premium will
increase 18 dollars a year.

The increase on vehicle
registration fees, less than 18 dollars
a year.

If you buy a new car, between
four and ten extra dollars a month on
your car loans.

And the final chunk of money will
come from heftier fines for abusive
drivers.

This plan would enable the state
to double money for mass transit and
increase money for local highway
construction projects by 90 percent.

But some are concerned that the
majoirty of the money generated will go
to Northern Virginia.

it worries me because it doesn't
