live in Goshen.

But after getting their recent tax
assessment, they say their quality of
life is costing too much.

County officials say it's happening to
homeowners across the board.

were built, followed by 193 in 2004.

Last year, there were 235 new homes.

them, some longtime homeowners worry if
their taxes continue to soar, it could
discourage people from moving here.

their mother was killed in a car
accident.

Nearly two months later, we
checked in to see how they're doing.

College student Ashley Hale
rescued the pups.

She took care of four.

One was adopted right away, and
the other four went to fellow student,
Stephanie Sult.

After raising Scratchy, Brewser,
Runty and Elizabeth for nearly six
weeks, Stephanie admits she can't
give them the attention and care they
deserve.

So she is in the process of
trying to find a home for her furry
friends she's become so attached to.

The first bird was put up

auctioned off to raise money for the

She took care of four.

One was adopted right away,
and the other four went to fellow
student, Stephanie Sult.

After raising Scratchy, Brewser,

them the attention and care they
deserve.

So she is in the process of
trying to find a home for her furry
friends she's become so attached to.

A company that makes shopping
carts is bringing nearly 200 new jobs
to Danville.

Unarco will move into an
old Dan River building by April.

The company reportedly
will be hiring welders and assemblers
for the new operation.

Senate passed a bill that would ban
smoking in all bars and restaurants.

In a News 7 poll conducted by
SurveyUSA, 68-percent polled support
the ban.

But some argue such a law will hurt
area businesses.

The bill now goes to the House of
Delegates where it's expected to face
an uphill battle.

ENG#2 There is some debate over whether

the top-selling dog treats in the
country are dangerous.

At least 13-dogs have died after
reportedly being fed Greenies -- which
are supposed to clean teeth and freshen
breath. Some vets say the treats
don't break down easily and can get

intestines.
