deal with the museum... raise two-
million dollars and we'll match it.

The museum did and is now ready

Once everything is up and
running, the museum is expected to
generate 15- million dollars a year for

That, combined with the all but
certain future of a New College

Now here's a look at some of today's
top local stories.

A company that makes shopping
carts is bringing nearly 200 new jobs

ENG#1 Earlier this week, the Virginia

Senate passed a bill that would ban
smoking in all bars and restaurants.

In a News 7 poll conducted by
SurveyUSA, 68-percent polled support
the ban.

But some argue such a law will hurt
area businesses.

The bill now goes to the House of
Delegates where it's expected to face
an uphill battle.

ENG#2 There is some debate over whether

the top-selling dog treats in the
country are dangerous.

At least 13-dogs have died after
reportedly being fed Greenies -- which
are supposed to clean teeth and freshen
breath. Some vets say the treats
don't break down easily and can get
stuck in a dog's esophagus or
intestines.
