were lost near Catawba mountain for
nearly four hours this evening.

The two men, ages 18 and 20, got
off the path from the Dragon's Tooth
trail around 6:30.

Rescue crews found the men at
about 10 o'clock tonight.

But, they still won't reach the
end of the trail until about midnight.

Medic units are on hand, but the
hikers do not appear to be injured.

We do have a crew on the scene.

We'll have more information
tomorrow on News 7 Sunday Morning.

GRAPHIC=Shooting State Police are investigating a


shooting that claimed the life of one
of their own.


It happened shortly after two
this afternoon on Route 649 in Clarke
County.

Police say the trooper responded
to a single-vehicle accident involving
a pickup truck.

But when the truck was being
moved, police say a firearm inside it
went off -- hitting the trooper in the
chest.

He later died at the hospital.

Both people inside the truck were
arrested on alcohol-related charges.

Authorities are NOT releasing the
trooper's name until his family is
notified.

TOUR bus crash this morning in
Oklahoma.

near Pauls Valley.

The bus driver says a car pulled
in front of him suddenly, forcing him
to hit the brakes.

The bus -- which was carrying
45-passengers -- then slid and turned
over.

An eight-year-old boy and a woman
died. Several others were
injured.

Officials for El Conejo
kuh-NAY-ho Bus Lines say the bus was
traveling from Kansas to Dallas.

It broke out last night only
hours after another fire at a Methodist
ministry on the University of Alabama
campus.

Authorities say they don't know
if either fire was linked to a string
of 10 church arsons in Alabama.

The fire began in a warehouse
where Christian-themed clothing was
produced.

Earlier in the day, a fire
damaged the chapel of Alabama's Wesley
Foundation, a campus ministry of the
United Methodist Church.

The cause of the fires has not
been determined.

helps the 8 seed get to within a point
of the champs.

Wesleyan hit enough of its free
throws in the closing minutes to build

Five *Mardi Gras* parades rolled
through neighborhoods left mostly
untouched by Hurricane Katrina.

They were the first of the major
parades, which will continue through

Fat Tuesday on February 28th.

Officials decided to allow a
scaled-back celebration this year
despite the widespread destruction
caused by Katrina.

The only time the city has
cancelled Mardi Gras was during World
War Two and the Korean War.
