trapped in a chimney in Wytheville this

afternoon.

Officials say some people heard a
man calling for help.

Firefigthers had to break through
the brick on the first floor of the
house to get the man out.

Officials say he had been trapped
for several hours.

There's no word if any charges
will be filed.

Bedford County woke up in the dark this
morning.

Appalachian Power says a
34-thousand volt line came down about
one o'clock -- when a car hit a power
pole.


About four-thousand customers
were without power in Vinton.

Officials say power was out in
the *Goodview- Stewartsville* area as
well.

Power was restored by 8 o'clock
this morning.

destroyed a Blacksburg home and changed
the lives of one family.

*Bowyer* pulled his granddaughter Katy
from the burning home.

But Paul didn't make it.


He died a short time later from
his injuries.

Katy suffered extensive burns.

Since that day last year, Katy

the family has tried to recover from
the loss of Paul Bowyer.

This afternoon, the Hokies made
things hard by doing neither against
N.C. State.

passed away. Coleman finished the day

just about any other animal they can
get their hands on to help children
with special needs.

Both groups employ occupational
therapists who can determine a lot
about a child by the way he or she
interacts with the animals.
