Bedford County are waking up to
darkness this morning.
A spokesman for AEP says a 34
-thousand volt line came down about one
o'clock this morning when a car hit a
power pole.
About four-thousand customers are
without power in Vinton.
The Bedford County Sheriff's
Office says power is out in the
Goodview- Stewartsville section as
well.
To prevent power surges -- A-E-P
is asking people without power to turn
off their major appliances, and keep
one light bulb on to know when the
power returns.

unanimously to change the way the gay
marriage amendment will be worded on
the November ballot.
If the House of Delegates agrees,
voters will see the entire text of the
amendment -- NOT just a summary.
Opponents of the gay marriage ban
claimed the summary was misleading
because voters would NOT realize they
were also voting to prohibit civil
unions.
Republican Senator Steve Newman
of Lynchburg urged the full Senate to
accept the change to avoid a lawsuit by
opponents of the constitutional
amendment.

meteorologist Marc Lamarre.

Gilbert Dennis Hadden is
charged with supplying the heroin that
caused Lamarre's near-fatal drug

a lot of time these days thanking her
customers.

Green Bay Wisconsin is digging
out from its biggest single

VO NAT day of snowfall in 96 years. 13
inches of snow fell in 24hours. For the
first time in 15-years, the University
of Wisconsin called off classes due to
the whiteout conditions.

VO NAT A cold front blasted through the
Boston area, bringing high winds and
much cooler temperatures. Winds up to
65mph were reported, causing numerous
power outages and downed trees.

VO NAT It sounds odd, but did you know
winter is the perfect time for viewing
bald eagles? Especially if you're in
Minnesotta, where hundreds of the them
were spotted in the sky yesterday. The
fresh snowpack forces them to search
for food in the waterways, instead of
on land.
There's some talk of taking the
bald eagle off the endangered species
list. At last count there were over six
thousand nesting pairs counted in the
U.S.

GRAPHIC=Power Outage 4444 A number of people in Vinton and
Bedford County are waking up to
darkness this morning.
A spokesman for AEP says a 34
-thousand volt line came down about one
o'clock this morning when a car hit a
power pole.
About four-thousand customers are
without power in Vinton.
The Bedford County Sheriff's
Office says power is out in the
Goodview- Stewartsville section as
well.
To prevent power surges -- A-E-P
is asking people without power to turn
off their major appliances, and keep
one light bulb on to know when the
power returns.

inauguration in Williamsburg this year
has lawmakers wanting to take another
road trip.

Last Month The inauguration in front of the
Colonial Capitol generated so much
attention, the House of Delegates has
passed a bill to send lawmakers back to
the region.
A Yorktown Delegate suggests
opening the 2007 General Assembly
session in Jamestown.
That night the governor would
deliver his State of the Commonwealth
address in Williamsburg.
It's all in an effort to maximize
media attention as the state
commemorates the 400th anniversary of
the founding at Jamestown.
The measure will now go before
the Senate where a majority of senators
have already signed on to the idea.

one man charged with going into a
woman's home and killing her earlier
this week.

Carter, Junior was arrested yesterday.
Police are still looking for 21
year old Jason Lamond Faulkner.
Both men are from Martinsville.
They face second degree murder
charges, along with breaking and
entering, and gun charges.

Monday Deputies responded to a home on
Ashley Drive Sunday night -- inside
they found 22 year old Meghan Lee Price
with a gunshot wound to the back of her
head.
She later died.
Her boyfriend told police
someone broke in and opened fire.
He also told them that he fired
several shots back at the intruders.

of her children.

Burnette was found guilty of second
degree murder after she ran over her
then boyfriend's mother after an
argument.
43 year-old Diana Blaney died at
the scene.
Today, the family of both Blaney,

porn, we think of an adult looking at
pictures of naked children.
But in Botetourt County, the
Sheriff's office is investigating a
case involving all juveniles.
According to Sheriff Ronald
Sprinkle, three teenage girls were at a
sleepover and took pictures of each
other.
They then sent the pictures to a
15-year-old boy over the Internet.
When an adult realized what had gone
on, the Sheiff's office was notified.
