GRAPHIC=NASCAR NASCAR finally handed out its

final punishment for crew chief Chad
Knaus.

Remember Knaus - who is the crew
chief for Jimmie Johnson - was caught
cheating during qualifying.

He was kicked out of Daytona,

and this afternoon NASCAR
announced that it is suspending him for
three more races and fining him $25
thousand dollars.

Knaus also has been placed on
probation for the rest of the season.

However, NASCAR did not take a
single point away from the 48 team.

In other words - no big deal.

All of these guys have plenty of
cash - what they can't afford to lose
is championship points.

GRAPHIC=HOLD NASCAR For some reason NASCAR did

decided to penalize with points the new
Hall of Fame Racing team owned by Troy
Aikman and Roger Staubach. Crew chief
Philippe Lopez was fined $25,000 and
driver Terry Labonte was penalized 25
championship points because they had an
illegal carburetor during qualifying.
Of course, Labonte is not a
championship contender and JImmy
Johnson is.

Tomorrow night Duke is on the

needs just 31 points to become the
ACC's all-time leading scorer and break
a record that has stood for 53 seasons.

It's the next big thing - a
fairytale senior season that has been
even tough for his Mom and Dad to fully
comprehend.

Hotel Roanoke employees wearing
costumes, tooted horns and passed out
beads during a Mardi Gras parade on the
City Market.

They were promoting a fundraiser
this Friday night to benefit victims of
Hurricane Katrina.

The hotel is putting on a New
Orleans-style benefit, complete with
hot Cajun cooking and cool jazz...for
25 dollars a person. END VO END VO
