the first arrest in a case that police
and school authorities say is
unsettling.

The first suspect, a 16-year-old
boy, had diagrams of the layout of
Liberty High School in his backpack ...
and authorities believe he was the one
who scrawled the message on a boys'
room wall that was found Monday.

But school resource officers kept
talking with students and following up

on tips ... and late Friday they
charged a 17-year-old boy with being a
participant in the plot.

day going through the wreckage of a
fatal plane crash in Augusta County.

30-year-old Benjamin Randolph
Hickin died last night when the Cessna
182 plane he was flying crashed onto
the shoulder of Interstate 81.

It happened near mile marker 232,
north of Staunton.

Authorities say the plane was
flying low after taking off from the
Shenandoah Valley Airport. Then it hit
a power line, lost a wing and crashed.

in relation to a shooting early this
morning in Bedford.

Officers responded to the 300
block of East Franklin Street shortly
after midnight.

They found 26-year old Nathaniel
Lee of Bedford with minor gun shot

wounds.

Lee was taken to the hospital,
treated, and later released.

Police say the shooting was a
result of several altercations
involving numerous individuals starting
late Thursday night.

drive to help a school in Pearlington
Mississippi.

Bedford, thanking them for the nearly
900 books their school received.

Nat Dawsey, a 3rd grader from
Charles B. Murphy Elementary in

his home town and talked about how much
the book drive helped him and his
friends.

get another win the semi-finals this
afternoon.

on a Bridgewater team that had only
lost twice in conference play during

the regular season.

The Eagles would get off to a
fast start. Rebecca Henderson a
Freshman from Cave Spring would score
and Bridgewater led by 7.

The Eagles continue to score in
the paint, Katy Herr with the
acrobatic score inside.

The Maroons would start the
comeback with Brittany Johnson scoring
on the inside.

dead last in the United Hockey League

in both the standings and attendance,
but on Saturday night - March 11th -
the Vipers will try to draw a crowd
with a blast from the past.

The team is planning to retire
the jersey of Dave Shultz who played
for the Salem Rebels during the 1969-70
season and later went on to star for
the Philadelphia Flyers.

She went over the history of
