o'clock last night near mile marker
232.

According to a witness, the
Cessna 182 took off from the Waynesboro

Airport successfully, but was flying
way too low.

State Police say the plane struck
a powerline causing it to go out of
control.

It crashed on the shoulder of the
Interstate and burst into flames,
killing the pilot 30-year-old Benjamin
Randolph Hickin of Spottswood.

No one else was on board.

The F-A-A is on its way to
investigate.

But for most committee members
the decision boiled down to property

reported since a high school student
died earlier this week.

seven hours in Phoenix, Arizona is now
in F-B-I custody.

last night on Interstate 81 near mile
marker 232.

According to a witness, the
Cessna 182 took off from the Waynesboro
Airport successfully, but was flying
way too low.

State Police say the plane struck
a powerline causing it to go out of
control.

It crashed on the shoulder of the
Interstate and burst into flames,
killing the pilot 30-year-old Benjamin
Randolph Hickin of Spottswood.

layout and that's not the only thing.

Anderson was given a verbal

Wednesday The Homestead is one of the ski resorts
where there's been more than enough
snow all winter, but getting enough
skiers to come out has been another
matter.

One reason may have been the skiing
conditions LAST winter. It was mild
then, too, enough so that The Homestead
had to close the slopes for a while.

No such problems this year. The Hot
Springs ski area expects to remain open
with good skiing well into March.

crash on Interstate 81.

The accident happened around
11:15 last night near mile marker 232.

According to a witness, the
Cessna 182 took off from the Waynesboro
Airport successfully, but was flying
way too low.

State Police say the plane struck
a powerline causing it to go out of
control.

It crashed on the shoulder of the
Interstate and burst into flames,
killing the pilot 30-year-old Benjamin
Randolph Hickin of Spottswood.

No one else was on board.

The F-A-A is on its way down to
investigate.

no new cases of meningitis have been
reported since a high school student
died earlier this week.

in front of East Salem Elementary.

They say 82-year old Hazel Puckett
ran her car off one side of Roanoke

Superintendent Tiffany Anderson has
retracted a statement she made after
being given a verbal warning when she

high- rise.

He finally surrendered last night
after seeing his wife and sister.

The hostages included several
federal employees, a court reporter,

a judge, an attorney and a secretary.

high- rise building managed to escape.

a new painting will remind folks of the

sacrifices officers make everyday.

29 year old David Pendleton is
creating the piece.

He's a local artist who has
overcome extreme brain damage.

The mural is called the wall of
honor and was requested and designed by
town police officers.

The department has lost two
officers in the line of duty over the
last 12 years.

Scott Hylton was killed in 2003
and Terry Griffith died in 1994.

Both of their pictures will be
placed in the center of the mural.

One person is dead after a plane crash
on Interstate 81 in Augusta County.
State Police say the plane was flying
too low and struck a powerline causing
it to go out of control. It crashed on
the shoulder of the interstate and
burst into flames, killing the pilot
30-year-old Benjamin Randolph Hickin of

Spottswood.

Administrators at Liberty High School
hope students will head back to school
today.

More than half the student population
stayed home yesterday because of a bomb
threat. A 16 year old boy is in
custody, charged with making the
threat.

non-alcoholic campus sponsored event
