shooting involving an officer.

It happened just after 1:30 this
morning at the Westside Apartments.

Police responded to a call about
a person with a gun.

According to a press release,
officers repeatedly ordered the man to
get out of the car.

When he wouldn't, they tried to
remove him -- when an officer's weapon
discharged.

The man suffered non-life
threatening injuries, but has not been
identified.

Neighbors' wouldn't talk on
camera, but say they did hear an
argument and then a shot.

The Commonwealth's Attorney will
review the incident -- following a
police investigation.

opened fire inside a church

today is dead.

The shooting killed a woman and
wounded two people, including a child.

Officers later spotted the
suspect near the church, but say he ran
behind a home.

They then heard a "loud boom."

24-year-old Kevin Collins, died
of what appeared to be a self-inflicted
gunshot wound.

One of the victims -- a man in
his 50s -- is in critical condition
after being shot after he tried to
protect his wife from a carjacking
attempt by the gunman.

The child suffered non-life

quarters at a University of Texas dorm
are NOT ricin.

Initial state tests had indicated
it was the potentially deadly poison.

The F-B-I tests did not identify
the substance, and it looks like no
further testing will be done.

The mystery powder spilled onto a
student's hands as she unwrapped a roll
of quarters in her dorm room on
Thursday.

Roughly 400 dorm residents were
evacuated Friday night.
