early Sunday morning.

asking for more help.

Last Thursday, Scott's Thrift
Store near Troutville was robbed.
Then early yesterday morning,
less than a mile away, the Virginian
Markette was broken into.
Both robberies had similarities,
mainly cigarettes were stolen.
One local owner says more can be
done to protect businesses.

another 20 win season and first place
in the Big South with a 12 and 1

The Flames' looked to build on a

have helped Marucs Vick more than most
people expected.

find a mountain lion in your backyard?

California homeowner, who spotted the
feline under a tree and eventually
wandered over to some garbage cans.
A nearby elementary school was
put on lockdown and neighbors were told
to stay inside their houses while
animal control officers shot the
mountain lion with a tranquilizer gun.
The neighborhood is just south of
the Los Angeles National Forest.

mission to bring bears back to a
Richmond park.

Alison Valentine used her
parent's yard sale over the weekend to
raise money for Maymont.
The park's two black- bears were
put down last week to be tested for
rabies.
That after one of the bears bit a
child who stuck his hand through the
chain linked fence surrounding the
animal's habitat.
The child was treated and
released, neither bear tested positive
for rabies.
In an effort to help the park buy
new bears, Valentine sold her *teddy*
bears to raise money.
