It happened just after 1:30
yesterday morning at Westside
Apartments.

Police responded to a call about
a person with a gun.

According to a press release,
officers repeatedly ordered the man to
get out of the car.

When he wouldn't, they tried to
remove him -- when an officer's weapon
discharged.

The man suffered non-life
threatening injuries, but has not been
identified.

Neighbors wouldn't talk on
camera, but say they did hear an
argument and then a shot.

The Commonwealth's Attorney will
review the incident -- following a
police investigation.

(END SOT) Health officials in France are trying

to contain an outbreak of bird flu.

(vo)

A farm with more than 10-thousand birds
has been contaminated with the virus.

The lethal H5N1 bird flu strain has
spread from Asia to at least 10
European countries and Africa, and
scientists fear it could mutate into a
form that is easily transmitted between
humans, sparking a pandemic.

Leaders are urging the public not to
panic but Japan has temporarily banned
the import of poultry products from
France.

(wipevo)

Concerns about bird flu are worldwide
and that has pushed up demand for
Tamiflu.

The drug can treat symptoms of the
illness.

But authorities say they continue to
find counterfeit versions being sold.

Last month in Britain officers seized
about a million dollars worth of
suspect drugs.

Authorities say fakes are also sold on
the Internet.

(wipevo)

The medical community continues to buzz
over a new discovery in prostate
cancer.

A virus, previously only seen in mice,
has been found in some men with the

disease.

Scientists caution they do not know if
the virus actually causes prostate
cancer.. but the association opens up a
new realm of research.

The finding could lead to new ways of
diagnosing the disease never before
considered.

(END SOT) Health officials in France are trying

to contain an outbreak of bird flu.

(vo)

A farm with more than 10-thousand birds
has been contaminated with the virus.

The lethal H5N1 bird flu strain has
spread from Asia to at least 10
European countries and Africa, and
scientists fear it could mutate into a
form that is easily transmitted between
humans, sparking a pandemic.

Leaders are urging the public not to
panic but Japan has temporarily banned
the import of poultry products from

France.

(wipevo)

Concerns about bird flu are worldwide
and that has pushed up demand for
Tamiflu.

The drug can treat symptoms of the
illness.

But authorities say they continue to
find counterfeit versions being sold.

Last month in Britain officers seized
about a million dollars worth of
suspect drugs.

Authorities say fakes are also sold on
the Internet.

(wipevo)

The medical community continues to buzz
over a new discovery in prostate
cancer.

A virus, previously only seen in mice,
has been found in some men with the
disease.

Scientists caution they do not know if
the virus actually causes prostate
cancer.. but the association opens up a
new realm of research.

The finding could lead to new ways of
diagnosing the disease never before
considered.

Before computers and before video

comic books.

And what better place to celebrate

it's a place where cartoon enthusiasts

Over three days, 10s of thousands are
expected to pack this hall... evidence
that comics aren't for the nerdy types
you may have pictured.

SOT Michael Walker/Fan

If you were a geek in high school you
were reading comic books sure. But now
the geeks are driving popular culture

so I like that

Bridge Tracie Strahan/CBS News

Allright so maybe the stereotype is
that geeks have traditionally read the
graphic novel. But lately, comics have
become cool when they make that leap to
the silver screen.

SOT-Matt Murray/ Museum of Comic and

Cartoon art

Look at the upcoming slate of movies
you've got superman, you've got the
x-men, v for vendetta is coming out...

And the sheer buzz around a comic-based
movie could send a Hollywood star into
orbit.

SOT-Milla Jovovich/Actress

People I think like to see me in these
kind of movies so they're all looking
forward to it which is awesome

But with comics so big at the box
office...will the stories in the books
eventually suffer?

SOT (no super/covered)

I think the stories are still wonderful
so I think that's what's gonna draw the
next generation of comic book fans into
the medium.

will NOT be the end of Pete's.

There are plans to relocate the

KIMBERLY ON CAM KIMBERLY ON CAM

Police believe Startz and Angelo had
some sort of relationship, but as of
late Saturday night, the exact nature
was not yet clear.

ENG#1 Some people are wondering if there's

anything that could have been done to
prevent Donna Angelo's death.

A Walmart spokeswoman says the
shooting is a terrible tragedy, but she
believes the incident was isolated.

She says the company is *always*
reviewing procedures.

But, it's top priority is
customer and associate safety.
