to replace Lorenzo Ward.

Ward has been at Tech since 1999
coaching defensive backs and putting a
pile of players in the pros including
De Angelo Hall, Ronyell Whitaker, Ike
Charleton and soon to be Jimmy
Williams.

Ward's departure means Frank
Beamer is replacing four coaches - the
biggest turnover on his staff in more
than a decade.

A man was burning copper wire this
afternoon when a nearby gas can melted,
setting fire to a garage and a new car.

Crews were worried the flames might
make it to nearby homes and a quarry.

They got the fire under control in
about a half-hour.

Tonight at eleven, why crews have
to be on their toes this time of year. (END VO) (END VO)
