Just this morning, an explosion
ripped through a Sunni mosque in
northwestern Baghdad.
It's another in a long list of
sectarian attacks, since the
destruction of a Shiite shrine last
week.
In other developments, with a Sunday
deadline passing and still no word on
the fate of kidnapped American
journalist Jill Carroll, Iraqi
officials say they believe she's still

Alison Valentine used her
parent's yard sale over the weekend to
raise money for Maymont.
The park's two black- bears were
put down last week to be tested for
rabies.
That after one of the bears bit a
child who stuck his hand through the
chain linked fence surrounding the
animal's habitat.
The child was treated and
released, neither bear tested positive
for rabies.
In an effort to help the park buy
new bears, Valentine sold her *teddy*

ENG#1 Bedford County has a program that
identifies registered sex offenders and
where they live. Officers say this
will be a vital tool if a child goes
missing because automatically they can
go to these homes and start eliminating
suspects. Yesterday, the Sheriff's
office got 50-thousand dollars to help
make the program work.

ENG#2 Sparks from a passing train may have
ignited a large brush fire along Plum
Branch Road near Concord in Campbell
County. Yesterday's fire burned
about five acres before it was under
control. Authorities say high winds
and dry conditions made it tough to
fight.
