File Tape The Orion (oh-RYE-in) Sporting
Group had argued that shooting clay
targets was a hunting activity
protected by the Virginia Constitution.

Orion sued Nelson County after
supervisors refused to allow target

shooting because of zoning and noise
concerns.

Judge Michael Gamble ruled against
Orion last year, saying that shooting
at clay targets was not the same as
hunting.

The state Supreme Court last week
agreed and refused to overturn Gamble's
verdict.
