Another 49 were injured in the
attack that comes just two days just

before a scheduled visit by President
Bush.

Bush says the blast won't keep him
from going-- and denounced the
attackers as "terrorists and killers."

The car bomb ripped through the
parking lot of a Marriott Hotel

about 20 yards from the consulate gate.

It shattered windows at the
consulate, and destroyed ten cars.

A DAY BEFORE HURRICANE KATRINA HIT..
DIRE WARNINGS ABOUT THE STORM WERE

SPELLED OUT IN THIS VIDEO BRIEFING
OBTAINED BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS.

(Max Mayfield, National Hurricane

MAYFIELD 17:31:44 I don't think that

anyone can tell you with any

confidence right now whether the levees
will be topped or not, but that

is obviously a very, very grave
concern.

FORMER FEMA DIRECTOR MICHAEL BROWN
DISCUSSED HIS CONCERNS ABOUT HOSPITAL

PATIENTS AND OTHERS NOT EVACUATED FROM
NEW ORLEANS.. AND POTENTIAL

PROBLEMS WITH THE SUPERDOME.

(Michael Brown, Former FEMA Director)

17:33:43 "Kind of gross here, but I am
concerned about NDMs and medical

and DMORT assets and their response to
a catastrophe within a

BUSH 17:31:11 we are fully prepared to
not only help you during the

storm but we will move in whatever
resources and assets we have at our

disposal after the storm

AFTER WATCHING THE BRIEFING.. NEW

ORLEANS MAYOR RAY NAGIN SAID HE WAS

SHOCKED.

(Ray Nagin, New Orleans Mayor)

NAGIN 22:40:58 Well, the realization
that there was full awareness prior

to the storm. That there was a promise
to do whatever it took and I did

not see that executed.

SOME OF THE FOOTAGE AND ADDITIONAL
TRANSCRIPTS CONFLICT WITH GOVERNMENT

EXPLANATIONS ABOUT THE SLOWNESS OF THE
RESPONSE.. INCLUDING THE

PRESIDENTS ASSERTION THAT NO ONE
ANTICIPATED A BREACH OF THE LEVEES.

CLOSE: THE PRESIDENTS SPOKESMAN URGED
THE PUBLIC NOT TO READ TOO MUCH

INTO THIS TAPE.. SAYING THE PRESIDENT
PARTICIPATED IN MULTIPLE BRIEFINGS

AND WAS COMPLETELY ENGAGED AT ALL
