Last Friday 30-year-old Benjamin Hickin died
last Thursday night when his Cessna
plane crashed along Interstate 81 in
Augusta County.

In a preliminary report, Federal
investigators say Hickin was
communicating to a friend driving a
tractor trailer below on the Interstate
with a cell phone.

Investigators say the pilot was
flying the plane in the vicinity of
truck driver, when the plane hit a
power line.

The report reveals there were NOT
any problems in the plane prior to the

GRAPHIC=NFL N-F-L owners have unanimously

voted to break off talks with players
on salary cap changes.

The action leaves the current
salary cap in place, as the start of
free agency soon begins.

The result could mean teams will
be forced to get rid of a lot of
veterans to fall under the existing
salary cap of 94- and a half- million
dollars.

N-F-L commissioner Paul
Tagliabue (TAG'-lee-uh-boo) is slated
to

meet with reporters sometime today.

Shortly after 8 o-clock last night, a
man called in the threat to Pittsburgh
Police.

The theater was immediately evacuated,
as the DVD continued to play.

Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to
look for any traces of a bomb, but
turned up nothing.

OQ=Hometown Hoops Weekly <<(STANDUP:) The George Washington
(END SOT) Eagles boast a 23 and oh record and

will host Booker T. Washington this
Saturday at Averitt University. The
Floyd County Girls meanwhile are 27 and
oh and play Haysi Friday Night in
Blacksburg Having a round number in
the loss column for both these teams is

nice but it wasn't neccessarly on the
Pre-season Goal List.

(MARTIN BITE: 01:00)

(CANTRELL: 02:27)

The Lady Buffalos will be a
hunted team with their perfect record
but it'ss nothing new for Floyd County.

(CANTRELL BITE:05:00)

This time a year the collar
begins to tighten for many coach. For
Alan Cantrell who has taken Floyd
County to the State Title before, the
opposite is true.

(CANTRELL BITE:03:20)

Bobby Martin tried to convey in
words to his young Eagle Team the
pressures that goes along with playing
in the post-season, but the kids had to
learn from experience.

(MARTIN BITE: 02:42)

Martin understands a thing or 2
about pressure. Having played college
football in front of thousands in Lane
Stadium under Frank Beamer, but yet
he's coaching basketball.

(MARTIN BITE: 03:55)

G.W. will be looking for it's
first state title since 1998, while the
Lady Buffalos last one the title in

1994. Grant Kittelson Hometown Hoops
