(END SOT) Jurors at this sentencing trial will

determine whether Zacarias Moussaoui
will spend the rest of his life in jail
or be put to death. The 37 year old
Frenchman is the only person ever
charged in connection with the
September 11th attacks. Last year, he

plead guilty to conspiring with
al-qaida to hijack planes and commit
other crimes....but he denied any
connection to 9-11 and claimed he was
training for future attacks.

This trial will have two phases. The
government must prove Moussaoui caused
death on 9-11. And if the jury believes
that, then in phase two...they choose
between life or death.

Prosecutors are expected to call a host
federal agents to the stand. They'll
testify that the attacks could have
been prevented... if Moussaoui had told
the truth to the FBI about his
terrorist links when he was arrested in
2001.

The defense will also use federal
agents to present it's case....mainly
that the FBI and other government
agencies knew more about the 9-11
hijackers than Mousaaoiu and still
failed to stop the attacks. This will
be the first time the government has
answered in court why they missed clues
to 9-11.

(stand-up close)

Thanks to legislation passed by
Congress....approximately 200 family

members of 9-11 victims will be able to
watch the trial from six remote
locations....including New York, Boston
and Philadelphia

Baby and Buster, two bears who
lived in Maymont Park, were killed last
week after one of them reportedly bit a
child on the hand.

The child went through a barrier
protecting the public from the animals.

Fearing rabies -- authorities
*euthanized* the bears.

Later tests showed the bears were
rabies-free.

The bears were then dumped in a
landfill, but after public outcry, they
were buried in Maymont Park.

Richmond's mayor has called for
an investigation into why the bears
were euthanized.

their favorite on that show as he was
mine growing up."

Some fans from Bassett (Debi and

that have morals and values that we
need to have more of these days and
times. When everyone knew you by your
first name, and you weren't afraid to
speak to strangers, and didn't have to

Thanks for all of the great memories."

And a viewer in Roanoke (Matt

enough to watch television. I have been
a constant daily viewer of the show
always. Andy , Barney and the gang
always have a lesson in life to teach
you that, no matter what ,love and
caring for one another, is all that
matters."

We also heard from people about
our Survey USA poll showing some
support for weapons screen at big

stores and shopping centers.

"I find it disturbing how many
Virginians want to suspend civil rights
guaranteed by the Bill of Rights
because of a shooting at Wal-Mart. In
America, the 2nd Amendment says we have
the right to bear arms, and it includes
the phrase "Shall not be infringed

this part. (Nick Reed/Christiansburg)

Another viewer (George

in screening if a weapon is found ? I
believe State Law provides that any

Anyway, legal concealed weapons
permittees will just shop elsewhere and
avoid places where they are not

Jurors at this sentencing trial will
determine whether Zacarias Moussaoui

will spend the rest of his life in jail
or be put to death. The 37 year old
Frenchman is the only person ever
charged in connection with the
September 11th attacks. Last year, he
plead guilty to conspiring with
al-qaida to hijack planes and commit
other crimes....but he denied any
connection to 9-11 and claimed he was
training for future attacks.

This trial will have two phases. The
government must prove Moussaoui caused
death on 9-11. And if the jury believes
that, then in phase two...they choose
between life or death.

Prosecutors are expected to call a host
federal agents to the stand. They'll
testify that the attacks could have
been prevented... if Moussaoui had told
the truth to the FBI about his
terrorist links when he was arrested in
2001.

The defense will also use federal
agents to present it's case....mainly
that the FBI and other government
agencies knew more about the 9-11
hijackers than Mousaaoiu and still
failed to stop the attacks. This will
be the first time the government has

answered in court why they missed clues
to 9-11.

(stand-up close)

Thanks to legislation passed by
Congress....approximately 200 family
members of 9-11 victims will be able to
watch the trial from six remote
locations....including New York, Boston
and Philadelphia

TAKE MAP TAKE MAP

It happened shortly before
midnight Sunday on Carver Drive.

Police say a 24-year-old man
approached an officer and said he had
been shot while sitting in his car.

He said three men inside a
Plymouth pulled up beside him -- and
one of them shot him in the arm.

The victim was treated and
released from the hospital.

Police believe the incident
started earlier at a private club.

Investigators say they *do* have

Baby and Buster, two bears who
lived in Maymont Park, were killed last
week after one of them reportedly bit a
child on the hand.

The child went through a barrier
protecting the public from the animals.

Fearing rabies -- authorities
*euthanized* the bears.

Later tests showed the bears were
rabies-free.

The bears were then dumped in a
landfill, but after public outcry, they
were buried in Maymont Park.

Richmond's mayor has called for
an investigation into why the bears
were euthanized.

Some fans from Bassett (Debi and

need to have more of these days and

Thanks for all of the great memories."

And a viewer in Roanoke (Matt

a constant daily viewer of the show

We also heard from people about
our Survey USA poll showing some
support for weapons screen at big

"I find it disturbing how many
Virginians want to suspend civil rights
guaranteed by the Bill of Rights
because of a shooting at Wal-Mart. In
America, the 2nd Amendment says we have
the right to bear arms, and it includes
the phrase "Shall not be infringed

this part. (Nick Reed/Christiansburg)

Another viewer (George

believe State Law provides that any

Anyway, legal concealed weapons
permittees will just shop elsewhere and
avoid places where they are not
