New research on the blood-thinning drug
Plavix combined with aspirin shows
unexpectedly high death rates.
The combination does work for people
who are already being treated for a
heart attack.. but actually hurt
instead of helped most people trying to
prevent one.
Researchers found Plavix on top of
aspirin almost doubled the risk of
fatal heart attacks or strokes for
people who did NOT have clogged
arteries, but did have conditions like
high blood pressure and high
cholesterol.

Natural compounds from red wine and
grape seeds could help curb gum
disease.
In lab tests, Canadian researchers
pitted antioxidants from red wine and
grape seeds against bacteria linked to
gum disease.
They found the antioxidants blocked
production of free radical molecules..
that can damage gum tissue.
But dentists warn the acidic content of
red wine can cause other problems for
your teeth.
(wipevo)
Another good reason to eat your
vegetables..
A new study published in the American
Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows
eating a mostly plant-based diet that
includes a combination of heart-healthy
foods may actually lower cholesterol as
effectively as cholesterol-lowering
Statin drugs.
Some of those cholesterol-lowering
foods include soy, almonds, oats, okra
& eggplant.
