Dennis Nagel, a parent and
Christiansburg attorney, asked the
County Board of Supervisors to hold off
on close to 20 million dollars in court
house renovations.

He said the money should be used
to build the three new schools.

the flames were yesterday morning.

22 year old Chris Hawks had just
gone in the front door to fight the
fire when there was a glow and a flash
of flames.

Hawks got trapped inside. His
best friend Scottie Turmin actually
pulled him to safety.

sexually abusing children.

Collins, Junior, entered into a plea
agreement.

Collins pled guilty to eight
felonies including sodomy and
aggravated sexual battery.

Police say the charges involved
at least three young boys under the age

park.


The 37-acre park will feature a
playground, fishing pier, picnic area
and eventually a beach.

The project has been in the works
for the past 10-years, but has been
slowed largely because of funding.

finally make it happen.

Governor Tim Kaine left late
Sunday night to visit Virginia National
Guardsmen and women.

The trip was finalized with the
Pentagon Saturday after the legislature
adjourned and the governor called a
special session.

News 7 learned about the trip
yesterday morning, but for safety

just now.

Kaine, along with three other
governors, will visit troops serving in
"hot zones" in Iraq, and make a brief
stop in Afghanistan before returning on
Friday.

trying to figure out who broke into
Back Creek elementary school and stole
five brand new computers.

A custodian discovered the
burglary first thing Saturday morning.

Vandals had gotten in through a
back door, destroyed security cameras
and did some DAMAGE to one computer.

Apart from some other minor
vandalism, five new Dell lap-top
computers were taken, along with two
new P-C towers.

The Back Creek P-T-A had just
BOUGHT the computer equipment for the
school.
