OQ=possibly get hit She has reason to be concerned.

In the last two years, 20 pedestrians
have been hit by cars in the town of
Blacksburg.

On Virginia Tech's campus, the number
is ten.

In response, the university put in a
roundabout to slow traffic down near a
busy intersection.

Several crosswalks were also
repainted with brighter colors.
There's even a message on the roadway
alerting drivers to look for
pedestrians.

pedestrians hit on and off campus has
yet to go down signifcantly.

So the university and the town of

with a comphresive pedestrian safety

They've asked some Virginia Tech

make recommendations.

Right now, the class is conducting an
