Forecasters say humidity levels will be

"This is our life income gone right

Anticipating winds up to 30 miles per

resources to the north of most fires.
For now, the blazes are not an
immediate threat tot any towns, but
officials say that could change very
quickly. Wildfires have plagued the
Lonestar State since the beginning of
the year...consuming about 3.7 million
acres and nearly 400 homes. Numbers
that are unfortunately increasing by

(END SOT) (nats....racing) LOCATOR: DUBAI,
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Camel racing may seem a bit -- well,
goofy (pause for nat pop), but it's
a big deal in the deserts of the Middle
East....a centuries-old
tradition.
A sport under threat -- until this
one-foot robotic jockey rode in and
saved the day.
The pint-sized performers are suited up
in team colors -- and
remote-controlled by their owners,
driving alongside.
(nats up..arabic)
BEFORE THE CAMELS WERE NOT RUNNING VERY

ROBOTS ARE STRONG AND NEVER TIRE, SO
THE CAMELS GO MUCH FASTER.
STANDUP BRIDGE: CHARLIE D'AGATA/LONDON
(1:05:18) WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE ABOUT
CAMELS? THEY'RE FASCINATING TO
WATCH, AND SEEING A ROBOTIC JOCKEY ON
THE BACK OF A RACING CAMEL IS
PRETTY AMUSING. BUT THESE AREN'T

CHILDREN.
In the past, very young boys were

slaves from India, Pakistan and
Africa.
Abdul's grandfather sold him into the
sport at the age of 3.
After breaking a leg, he was taken
into a camel jockey refuge in
Dubai...now he's going home to
Pakistan.

CHILD JOCKEYS
IT'S VERY SIMPLE, THEY'VE REPLACED
LITTLE CHILDREN SO IT JUST GOES
WITHOUT SAYING WHAT ROLE THEY HAVE
PLAYED IN SAVING THE LIVES OF
CHILDREN.
Thanks largely to the robot, it's now
ILLEGAL to race under age 18 in
Dubai.
(nats up arabic)
NOW THE SPORT IS MORE POPULAR, HE SAYS,
IT'S MUCH BETTER THAN USING
BOYS WHICH WAS WRONG.
(show robot whipping camel)
Well, YEAH...but it took a little
silk-clad robot to whip the ancient
