CBS-NCAA Productions Coach K was not exactly elated :00 with hits team's effort tonight against
Southern.

Last Sunday - J.J. Redick led the
Duke Blue Devils to the ACC title on
this floor and tonight he again had his
shooting touch in check hitting 5 of 9
shots in the opening half for 15
points. J.J. would finish the game
with 29.

Southern used its quickness and
really stayed within striking distance
of the Blue Devils until the final 10
minutes.

But J.J. got plenty of help on
the inside from his fellow all-American
senior Shelden Williams who scored 29. *CG final Duke

At Cox Arena in San Diego
everyone was evacuated from the
building about 2 hours before scheduled
tip-off. This was done in response to
a bomb sniffing dog reacting to a
package inside. Marquette and Alabama
who were scheduled to play their game
at 2:40 Eastern Time, but were held at
their hotels while the container was
removed by a bomb squad.

The Arena was re-opened - the
game started an hour late and Alabama
