announce cuts at its National Textiles
plant in Galax.

In the past six months folks in
Carroll and Grayson Counties have taken
some big employment hits.

The first one came back in
December 2005.

Job cuts at Bassett Furniture in
Mt. Airy, North Carolina affected 90
people in the area.

A month later Webb Furniture
eliminated 309 positions.

Vaughan Furniture cut 200 jobs
March third...and Sara Lee will leave
334 people without jobs for a total of
933 jobs lost.

a car in Blacksburg.

This time it happened on the 100
block of Draper Road around 2:00 this
afternoon.

Police say, for no apparent
reason, the driver of a 1998 Honda
veered off the road, struck a
pedestrian and hit a sign.

The driver left the scene, but
the Honda was later found on Hampton

Court.

believed he was hit by a vehicle, that
was using the trail as a shortcut.
Police even seized these two S-U-V's as

Cameron Johnson is with the dealership
and told News 7 in January it had been
leased to a service customer.

But a new search warrant creates a
clearer picture.

The Ford Excursion was actually leased
to his roommate, Aaron Pierce. Pierce
admitted to police he had driven
through the shortcut that night.

hit the victim when driving over the
curb into the grassy area. He also
admitted he had been drinking alcohol
the night of the incident.

was interviewed by police for the first

Tournament kicks off this afternoon,
the D-3 men are wrapping up with their
Final Four this weekend right here in
Salem. The Champions from the ODAC,
Virginia Weslyan will be back on the
same court that they won the Conference
Championship just last month. The
Marlins are excited about the chance to
play for another title in Salem.

included Gregg Marshall and Winthrop
taking on Tennessee. This one being
played in Greensboro.

The 15 seed would take a 2 point
lead on the bucket by Craig Bradshaw
and Winthrop was thinking upset.


The Eagles were down 2 when James
Shuler would drain the 3-pointer for a
6 1 to 60 lead.

College taking on Pacific and this one
went to 2 overtimes.

It got to the first extra session
thanks to Christain Maraker
(MOORE-ah-Car) who drains the wide open
3-pointer to tie it at 65.

B-C looked to be out of it, but
Jared Dudley hit a 3 pointer, 2 Craig
Smith Free Throws got the Eagles into
Double Overtime.
