after an accident this morning in
Roanoke.

happened around nine this morning at
the intersection of eighth and Bullet.
Police say 24 year-old Melissa
Stinnett of Rocky Mount hit this SUV at
the intersection, causing it to flip.
Stinnett was charged with failure
to yield.
The driver of the SUV was 53
year-old Cheryl Brenton of Roanoke.
Brenton had to be cut free from
her SUV.
She was treated and released from
Roanoke Memorial.

The tour bus plunged 300 feet down a
steep mountainside in Northern
Chile... killing 12 elderly Americans
and injuring 2 others. The

sight-seeing excursion from the port
city of Arica.

on a rugged mountain highway. The bus
apparently ran off the road."
The 14 passengers involved are members
of a 64 person Jewish tour group
from Connecticut and New Jersey. A
Celebrity spokesman says the group
booked the bus excursion on their own
with an independent operator that
the company has never dealt with.

from 63 to 79.
The Millennium is on a 14-day South
American tour.. and it has resumed
it's cruise.. scheduled to return to
Fort Lauderdale, Florida April
2nd. The cruise line is offering to
fly family members of victims to
Chile and is promising to work with
local authorities and the U-S
consulate to help victims and family
members deal with this tragedy.

That year, people caused 203 fires.

which was recovered.

latest addition-- a baby giraffe named
Chioke (Chee- oh- kee), which is
Nigerian in origin and means A Gift
From God.
The giraffe is only seven weeks old,
but he's already over six feet tall and
weighs over 200 pounds.
