GRAPHIC=Virginia Tech Students at Virginia Tech can
expect to pay a little over eight
percent more in tuition next year.
ENG#=4 VO-NAT
VO-NAT Tuition increases have become the
norm at Tech.
In 2002 for example Virginia Tech
raised tuition by thirty percent.
That's significant when you
consider there were no tuition
increases from 1995 to 2001.
Next year, a Virginia
undergraduate living on campus can
expect to see an increase of about 900
dollars.
For out of state students it's
more than 15-hundred dollars.
So why all the tuition
increases?
Virginia Tech blames it on the
lack of state funding.
Administrators point out the
university is getting 30 million
dollars less than it did in 2000.
