The delay of getting Cave Spring's
two new athletic fields ready to play
upset many parents.
But Tuesday marked the first day the
new soccer and softball fields were
used.
Acting Superintendent, Lorraine
Lange says that's due to the hard work
parents and students put in.
So the question becomes since the
fields are now being used, does that
ease tensions?

City council yesterday heard
recommendations from a recreation task
force on how to best utilize the city's
athletic fields.
The city plans to spend 1-point-5
million dollars on installing synthetic
"sports turf" at both the E.C. Glass
and Heritage High School athletic
fields.
Educators say the new turf will
be safer for athletes to play on and is
much more durable than natural grass.
A similar overhaul at the City
Stadium football field is still a few
years away.
