has sparked protests all around the
country.

VO-NAT But a senior white house aid told
CBS news they do not expect any bill to
cross the President's desk before
election day.
A reform bill did pass in the House
in December that would make it a felony
to be an illegal immigrant.
This bill also calls for the building
of a security fence along the U-S and
Mexico border.
The president has proposed a
guest-worker program for illegal
aliens.

opinions when it comes to immigration
reform.
In our latest poll -- two out three
people surveyed say they are in favor
of making it a FELONY to live in the
U-S ILLEGALLY.

VO-NAT the poll conducted Thursday by
Survey-U-S-A indicates Virginians who
live in the Central and Southwestern
parts of the state consider illegal
immigrants guilty of a serious crime.
The poll found 66% support making it a
felony to live illegally in the United
States. 27% are opposed. While seven
percent aren't sure.
And 67-percent support building a
fence along the border.
These poll results concern Latinos
who live here now.

honored for their service to our
community.

It is all part of an international
exchange program that brings teachers
from foreign countries to America to
bring their culture to U.S. students.
The Visiting International Faculty
program honored about a dozen teachers
at the ceremony.
They were named Outstanding cultural
ambassadors. The winners include a
Spanish teacher who works at Clifton
Middle School in Alleghany County, and
another Spanish teacher from Colombia,
who has been helping students at
Rustburg High School.
She says the media has given her
country a distorted image.

It's been a wild week in the
weather world.

VO NAT For the second time in less than
three weeks, the city of Sedalia,
Missouri is cleaning up after getting
hit by a tornado. Weather officials
confirmed it was a twister that struck
this week. At least four homes were
hit, vehicles were damaged and debris
and tree limbs are scattered throughout
the city.
On March 12th in Sedalia, one man
was killed and more than 100 homes were
destroyed when tornadoes struck that
same area.

VO NAT While we are hoping for rain,
others want it to stop. Rainfall has
been almost continuous since February
in parts of Hawaii. Walkways turned
into waterfalls as the floodwater
rushed around homes. Numerous mudslides
have been caused by the raging waters.

VO NAT The U.S. isn't the only place
with extreme weather, in Dresden
Germany, close to a thousand people may
have to be evacuated due to flooding
caused by melting snow and heavy rain.
River levels are expected to rise
16 feet higher than normal this week.

Administrators allowed Fisher and
Wiley to go home early and promptly
removed the remark.
But that's not enough for one

Montgomery pulled into the drive- thru
of the First National Bank branch in
Shawsville, told the teller she had a
gun and demanded money.
She left empty-handed, and police
made the arrest shortly afterwards.
Earlier this year Montgomery

Elementary are raising money for St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital.
So far, they've donated more than
22-thousand dollars.

leukemia and continues to get treatment
at St. Jude.
The students are raising money
