GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident A man is dead and two children


are hurt after an accident in Floyd
County.

It happened around 3:30 yesterday
afternoon on Route 58 near the Patrick
County line.

Authorities say 62-year-old
Charles Higgins' vehicle ran off the
side of the road.

Higgins died at the scene.

Two six-year-old twin boys inside
the vehicle were hurt, one of them
seriously.

searched for 58-year-old Robert
Manspile Senior near his home on Bohon
Hollow Road around noon Saturday.

They later found his body over an
embankment nearby.

damaged after a fire broke out.

One end of the house was
destroyed.

York, and follows race fans around the
country.

But there are some local
entrepreneurs.

Take 76-year-old Martinsville
resident Virginia Blankenship.

She sews and sells her OWN
ORIGINAL race paraphernalia.

race.


As fans near the speedway, they
run into the next race day
entrepreneur.

Parking quickly becomes a
commodity the closer you are to the
speedway, but not everyone is in it to
fill their own pockets.

The Ridgeway Volunteer Fire
Department has used this make shift
parking lot for the last nine years to
raise money, and the volunteers bring
in a couple of thousand dollars every
time NASCAR is in town.

fire this close to a creek.

with the Roanoke Dazzle over the
weekend to help promote organ donation
and get people to sign up to become
donors.


LifeNet is the largest
non-profit, full-service organ donation
agency and tissue banking system in the
U-S.

But, the agency says it willing
to work with any organization -- big or
small -- to help spread the word.

About 70 members of the *Friends
of the Virginian Railway* spent the

weekend touring the city's railroad hot
spots.

pass through Roanoke nearly a hundred
years ago.

It brought names like Buffalo
Bill Cody and his Wild West Show to the
city in the early 20th century.

In 1959, the railway merged with
Norfolk and Western -- which later
became Norfolk Southern.

Stops on this weekend's tour
included Shaffers crossing, and the
Norfolk Southern Historical building.
