Now he's telling members of City
Council that the police department IS
addressing the issue.

Forest Warden David Cooper says
someone is responsible for setting four
brush fires that charred more than
one-hundred acres of land.

The latest one burned this
hillside along Phillips Hollow Road
last Thursday.

He says the same person may have
started two other fires as well.

unwanted residents.

police on the buzzards, after spotting
several of them on his deck.

Now, officers are using fireworks

Cleveland has left four children dead.

Firefighters responded to a car fire
down the street from the apartment
building, when they saw smoke coming
from the three- story structure.

Crews rescued a man, who told them

he had four children still inside the
apartment.

All four were found in a room
together.

Arson investigators are now
searching for clues in the rubble.

No word yet on how the fire got
started.

overnight, bringing to 24 the number of
storm deaths in that state.

Meteorologists estimate one
tornado that wiped out hundreds of
homes in West Tennessee was packing
winds over 200- miles- per- hour.

mobile homes on the ground in the Gulf
coast, and by the time hurricane season

In New Orleans, they're taking it
especially seriously -- after the
disaster at the Super Dome - the city
now says there will be NO shelter of
last resort.

Especially since the levees around the
city - although on track to be repaired

other weaknesses engineers won't have
time to repair.

Still - as much attention as has been
focused on the Gulf Coast - some
forecasters warn this year -- the East
Coast may be in for it's share of the

A new D-V-D will premiere at this
year's arthritis walks across the
country-- including the one in May here
in Roanoke.

Rheumatologist Doctor Patience White
and Physical Therapist Jenny Rund join
us via satellite this afternoon to talk
more about it.

admitted to the hospital on the eve of
the National Championship game between
U-C-L-A and Florida.

The 95-year-old is expected to be
fine, and should be released in a day
or 2.

Ike Whitaker returned to practice
with Virginia Tech yesterday.

This was after being suspended on
March 2nd for violating team rules,
that because he was arrested the night
before, for Purchase and Possession of
Alcohol.

Whitaker is only 18 years old and
went to court for the Charges, pleading
no contest.

Whitaker was red-shirted this
past season and has all the tools to be
a starter for the Hokies.

Now he just has to play catch-up to
the guys who have been practicing for
the entire spring.
