In Pulaski County the owners of a
home in Dublin smelled smoke and called
for help.

The fire apparently started in a
storage area beneath a sunroom. People
working nearby say the wind quickly
spread the flames.

Everyone made it out of the house

safely.

Damage is estimated around
100-thousand dollars.

A cigarette was to blame for an
early-morning house fire that spread to
the woods off Burnt Chimney Road in
Franklin County.

Firefighters couldn't save the
home, so they focused their efforts
instead on putting out several brush
fires.

Investigators say the owner of
the home was working on his back porch
yesterday, when he threw his cigarette
into the yard.

The wind re-kindled the ash and
started a fire under the porch.

For an examination of when
the wind may die down a bit, let's talk

in Baseball is great but a player's
goal is to continue moving up the
ladder until they hopefully reach the
Major Leagues. In Lynchburg the
opening day starter for the Hillcats
will be Wardell Starling. This will be
the second straight season that
Starling has started in Lynchburg, but
he's all right with that.

Sean Singletary has had
successful hip surgery.

The rising junior had the medical
procedure done on March 30th to relieve
discomfort he was experiencing in the
hip he injured December 4th of last
year.

He'll now spend the remainder of
the spring rehabilitating from the
procedure and will have limited
activity involving the team's

off-season program. He is expected to
participate without restrictions later
this summer.

Today, Novozymes Biologicals
signed on as a corporate sponsor and
committed 250- thousand dollars over
five years.

The greenway will eventually
stretch more than 25 miles from Dixie
Caverns to Explore Park.

And greenway advocates are hoping
the support of Novozymes and other
corporate sponsors will bring major
progress over the next several years. (END VO) (END VO)
