Researchers are not ready to suggest

The owners of the former Lane
Furniture building approached the town
two years ago for ideas on what to do
with the building.

After some analysis, officials
decided to turn it into a home emporium
-- where local merchants can make and
sell their products in one central
place.

So far, the owners have secured
one business -- a local cabinetry maker
-- but they hope to have at least nine
more.
