Salem.

Jensen family discovered five-year-old
Brittney had a brain tumor.
After countless surgeries,
radiation and chemotherapy- Brittney
died in November.
Now, her family and friends have
formed the "Brittney Jensen Memorial
Fund - Carilion Foundation."
The foundation helps other local
families with the costs of surgeries,
medication and treatment.

two Christianburg men on various
counterfeiting charges.
According to *N-R-V
Today-DOT-COM* -- David Lee Dickerson
and David Albert Gillispie are accused
of passing fake money to two local
businesses in 2005.
According to the indictment,
Dickerson bought computer equipment and
made fake money in the basement of his
house between December 2004 and July
2005.

a fatal accident last year, a Roanoke
church is changing its name.

File Tape On Easter Sunday, Glad Tidings
Christian Church will officially be
re-named "Life Church."
Officials say they'd been
considering the name change for some
time, but last October's accident only
solidified the idea.
The accident killed two of the
church's members -- John Thomas Mosier
and Bridget Stoops -- and seriously
injured four others.
A trust fund set up for the
victims' families has now reached more
than 100-thousand dollars.

with a street fair.

you about Marilyn Slocum.
She takes in older, unwanted and
neglected horses -but a long winter was
making it tough for her to continue
operating "Slocum's Appaloosa Ranch."
After our story aired, dozens of
viewers called to see if they could
volunteer or make donations.
Slocum says the story has been
nothing but positive for her -- and her
more than 100-horses.
She says even though she's been
offering trail rides and lessons for
nearly 30-years, some folks didn't even
know she existed.

kept Craig County crews busy.

murder-for-hire, two Martinsville men
may seek new trials.

File Tape Billy Ray Manns had testified
that Maverick Thomas and Malvester
Dixon hired him to kill Thomas' wife,
30-year-old Lisa Nicole Thomas.
Dixon and Thomas were both
convicted on related murder charges.
In exchange for his testimony,
Manns received a one-year sentence for
conspiracy to commit capital murder.
Now, some of Manns' cellmates and
his attorney are saying Manns told them
he made up the story.
Because of the new information,
Dixon and Thomas may seek new trials.

death after climbing onto a steep,
dew-covered roof.

early Saturday.
They say his death appears to

National Guard soldiers has been
honored for its service in Iraq.

The Freedom Salute Campaign was
instituted by the Army National Guard
to *publicly acknowledge* National
Guard Soldiers and their families.
Yesterday, about 165 soldiers
from the 17-73rd Transportation Company
were awarded with various medals.
They were also given awards they
had earned during their support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The soldiers served in Iraq for
about a year before returning home last
December.
