this massive White Oak tree landed in

viewing area remains under a high fire
danger.

Firefighters in Botetourt County
encountered those dangers this
afternoon.

Ridge.

Fire officials say it started

near some railroad tracks off of
Healing Springs Road.

No one was injured, and no homes
were damaged.

Firefighters were able to get the

Fire officials say a larger fire
started in the same area a few years
ago.

Hispanic man will *NOT* face criminal
charges.

was shot in the back February 26th.

Officers said they were trying to
get Navarro out of his car, when
officer Randolph Rowland's gun went

off.

Roanoke Commonwealth's Attorney
Don Caldwell told News-7 this afternoon
that blood work from Navarro showed the
man had a blood/alcohol level of point
2-8.

That's nearly four-times the
legal limit for driving under the
influence.

Caldwell says it's his opinion
the shooting was NOT a criminal act and
the test confirms what officers AND
witnesses said... that Navarro was
impaired.

It was set to begin in early May, but

A former deputy sued McMillan last
August, claiming the Sheriff made
sexually-charged comments and engaged
in unwelcome physical contact with her.

News accounts of Lespia LESS-uh King's
accusations are widely believed to have
been responsible for Sheriff McMillan's
defeat at the polls last November.

GRAPHIC=Fire Late word tonight about what

appears to be a deadly fire in Franklin
County.

The sheriff's department says the
body of a man was found after a house
fire in the 300-block of Treetop Road
near Rocky Mount.

The fire was reported around 5:30
this evening. The home was destroyed

The body has been sent to the
Medical Examiner's office for
identification and an autopsy.

The fire marshall will return to
the home tomorrow to try to figure out
what started the fire.

twists and turns, but 35 year old
Jennifer Stamm says she never saw this
one coming.

And that sent Stamm to the Montgomery
County jail. Every friday, for the last
two weekends, she's come here to serve
out a 30 day sentence.

Stamm denied visitation to Elizabeth
and Robert Cannon. She lived with them
for a year and says they were her
child's babysitters.

A large utility truck was
apparently too heavy for a small bridge
in western Pennsylvania causing it to
collapse this morning.

The truck tried to cross the
bridge over a creek around 9.

The bridge gave out, dumping the
truck on its side and into the creek.

The two workers in the truck are
with a private contractor doing work
for Verizon.

They were not injured.

Colonels have players from 5 different
continents and 12 countries, including
the likes of Russia, Liberia, Somalia,
Honduras, and Brazil to name a few.
The group includes one exchange
student, but most are immigrants and
refugees.
