The problem is if two drivers
get into an accident, when the city

calls in tow trucks off its list, the
drivers could get different companies
and very different bills.

Since there are no caps as to
what tow companies can charge for
towing vehicles from an accident, the
city did surveys of different areas in
the state and came up with this price
guideline.

125 dollars for a light duty
tow, which would be a normal car, 25
for cleanup, a 25 dollar fee per day
for storage that kicks in after 24
hours plus a 50 dollar DMV processing
fee for vehicles that are abandoned by
their owners.

The city says basically, they
don't want accident victims to have to
worry....
