It's been that way since 5-30 or so
this afternoon, after a tanker truck's
rear tire blew out..
Police say the driver lost
control, overturned... and hit a car.
The tanker was hauling a
food-grade alcohol, and a private
cleanup company is transferring the
hazardous cargo onto another truck.
The two drivers were taken to the
hospital.
Crews expect the cleanup work to

Keys vs. Avs You just never know what you
:00 might run into on any given night at
Salem Memorial and at the Mostly Sofas
Best seat in the house, there was a
successful wedding proposal in the
third inning.
There also was success for the
home team.
Ervin Alcantara will rip one
right off the Frederick pitcher and
it's enough to chase home Wallace
Torbert to make it one to nothing Avs
in the bottom of the first.
Now this is not a replay, but the
very next batter in the first Scott
Robinson also hits ones between the
wickets and this time Neil Sellers
scores and it's 2-to-nothing and the
ball hasn't gone 100 feet.
Still in the first, Billy Hart
will takes care of that deficiency as
he whacks one to deep
*CG final Frederick left center field. Robinson and
2 Alcantara score. The Avs get 4 runs in
Salem the first and hang on for the 4-to-2
4 win. They'll close out the series
tonight at 7.

(END SOT) << In the State of Virginia when you
think of the most talented football
prospects your mind will most always
drift towards the beach and the
Tidewater area. That part of the
Commonwealth year in and year out is
hotly contested on the recruiting trail
and is a priority for all the colleges
in-state, including Virginia Tech.
That is one of the main reasons that
Frank Beamer hired Curt Newsome.
(NEWSOME BITE:)
The Hokies hired Newsome from
James Madison which was his first
College Coaching Job and where he first
had to recruit.
(MATTHEWS BITES:)
One recruiting tool that helped
Newsome nab 18 in-state player for
