Both houses spent the afternoon
taking up bills either amended or
vetoed by Governor Tim Kaine.
Delegates and senators rejected
dozens of amendments, but couldn't come
up with enough votes to override any of
the governor's vetoes.
Governor Kaine now has 30- days
to act on any amendments the
legislature rejects.
After the Veto Session lawmakers
reconvened for the Special Session
designed to continue work towards
ending the budget impasse.
