last night at Duke University Hospital
following emergency surgery to repair a
leaking iliac artery aneurysm. The
iliac arteries supply blood to the legs
and the surgery to correct this type of
rare aneurysm took place on Tuesday,
but at the family's request is was kept
private until yesterday. *CG locator 1986 Virginia Tech Season

Dooley led Tech to 7 straight
winning seasons during his tenure which
ended with a Peach Bowl win and a pile
of legal paperwork.

In his nine seasons in
Blacksburg, he won 64 games before
leaving after the 86 season.

Eastern Mennonite vs. Roanoke The Royals upset third seed
Virginia Wesleyan in the first to earn
the right to play Roanoke.

It would stay scoreless until the

third when Tamara Poles singled to
right to drive home Hillary Hudgins and
the Maroons take a one to nothing lead.

But they were not done in that
frame. Whitney Purvis will single to
drive in Loren Messick and Poles as the
Royals commit a costly error and fall
behind 3-to-nothing in the third.

Roanoke maintain that working
margin until the fifth, when Allison
Brunk put down a suicide squeeze bunt
and scored Nathasha Viafora for EMU's
lone run. Lindsey Craig, the Lord
Botetourt product got her 17th win of
the year as Roanoke wins it 5-to-1.

Two weeks ago a student found
this little duck nesting underneath a
piece of playground equipment.

They've named the mallard
Margaret, after the school.

She's laid ten eggs under a
ladder for the slide.

The school roped off the area,
but the students don't seem to mind,
they just play next to her.

Apparently, Margaret comes back
every year, but this is the first time
she's ever made a nest on the
playground.
