of scary moments and ended in the
hospital.. for two construction workers
who fell into a pit.. and it was quite
a challenge for rescuers to reach the
men 60 feet down.

The two were working near the
bottom of an inclined waterway at the
Roanoke Sewage Treatment Plant when an
equipment malfunction caused them to
fall about five feet into the pit.
The men could not climb out
because they hurt and Roanoke's Heavy
Technical Rescue Team was called to the
plant.
The team carefully hoisted the
two injured workers to safety and the
men were taken to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital.
Fire officials say the two men
were NOT critically injured.

The event was canceled this year,

his college game to Union College.
The NAIA school in Barbourville,
Kentucky has been a likely destination
for Smith for weeks.
Smith was the offensive key in

conference - the same conference as
UVa-Wise.
