for a man convicted in the 1996
killings of three neighbors in
Danville.

execution for June 8th.
His attorney's plan to appeal a
4th Circuit's decision last
month denying claims that Walton is
mentally retarded and insane.

his attorney's won a temporary stay.

But, a groundbreaking government
study by researchers at Virginia Tech
says THAT behavior is even more
dangerous than you might think.
80- percent of crashes involve
drivers who are distracted.
This is actual video of a person
not paying attention and getting into a
crash.
Researchers videotaped more than
240 drivers for a year in the DC
metropolitan area.
They found 20 percent of all the
crashes involved drowsy drivers.

cell phone has become almost second
nature to some drivers.
We talked to one driver who
not only talks on her phone, she admits
she looks down and types text messages.
And then others, admit their
bad habit centers around music.

Students say it's clearly needed

are outdated and are missing modern

170 classrooms for over 26-thousand
students.
That's why the university wants

the trial begins.
The defense is arguing that the
statute of limitations had run out on
social security fraud charges that
allegedly occurred before 2001.
The judge will rule on that

road projects will have to be cut if
state lawmakers don't aree on a budget
soon.

yesterday of its six-year plan for road
projects.
Compared to the plan approved
last year, funding for the state's
primary and secondary roads will be cut
by about six- million dollars.
House leaders call the numbers a
"campaign of misinformation."

than 60 people at its Elliston
facility.

A company spokesman blames the
cuts on overseas competition but says
no more layoffs are expected.
Rowe Furniture also has a plant
