Danville.

But, a groundbreaking government
study by researchers at Virginia Tech
says THAT behavior is even more
dangerous than you might think.

80- percent of crashes involve
drivers who are distracted.

This is actual video of a person
not paying attention and getting into a
crash.

Researchers videotaped more than
240 drivers for a year in the DC
metropolitan area.

They found 20 percent of all the
crashes involved drowsy drivers.

cell phones were the biggest
distraction for drivers.

And 18 to 20 year olds got into 4
times as many crashes as any other age

not only talks on her phone, she admits
she looks down and types text messages.

170 classrooms for over 26-thousand
students.

That's why the university wants
to construct a brand new classroom

soon.

than 60 people at its Elliston
facility.
