80- percent of crashes involve
drivers who are distracted.

Researchers videotaped more than
240 drivers for a year in the DC
metropolitan area.

They found 20 percent of all the
crashes involved drowsy drivers.

than 60 people at its Elliston
facility.

26 positions were eliminated this
month, and 37 others were cut in March.

A company spokesman blames the
cuts on overseas competition but says
no more layoffs are expected.

ENG#3 Virginia Tech plans to spend


seven and half million dollars over the
next two years renovating 16 heavily
used classrooms. Students say
it's clearly needed since many of the
classrooms on campus are outdated and
are missing modern amenities like
