Maury River for a missing 16-year-old
boy.

They're looking near the
intersection of Route 631 and Route
Eleven at Jordan's Point.
Police say two teenage boys --
whose names are NOT being released --
went into the river around four
yesterday afternoon on the Lexington
side.
When one of the teens got out, he
didn't see his friend.
Divers from the Rockbridge County
Sheriff's office were called in, as
well as a state police helicopter.
Crews plan to resume a full
search at daybreak.
More than a hundred officials are
expected to help this morning.

GRAPHIC=Tim Kaine Governor Tim Kaine will sign
several pieces
of legislation today that strengthen
monitoring and penalties for
sex offenders.
One bill would require a
mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years
for certain violent sex offenses
against children younger than 13.
The legislation also expands the
list of offenses that qualify
as sexually violent and provides
tougher penalties for those who
fail to register.

GRAPHIC=Hutcherson Jury selection is set to begin
today for the trial of Lynchburg Mayor
Carl Hutcherson.

The trial for the 61-year-old is
expected to last a week in U-S District
Court in Roanoke.
Witness testimony is scheduled to
begin tomorrow.
Hutcherson was indicted in
December on charges stemming from
allegations he took money from a church
charity and Social Security recipients.
If convicted on all seven counts,
Hutcherson would face 105 years in
prison and a *two-and-a-half million*
dollar fine.
Federal sentencing guidelines
would call for a significantly lighter
sentence.

new 765-kilovolt power line is nearing
completion.
The 90 mile powerline stretches
from Wyoming County, West Virginia to
Jackson's Ferry in Wythe County.
The company hopes it will be
ready to go online by June.

he's had TWO heart transplants- the
first one right after he was born.

PROBLEMS. THAT NIGHT WE FOUND OUT HE
HAD HYPERPLASTIC LEFT HEART SYNDROME.

For 14-years he had relatively
few problems, then last year things
started to change and Josh realized
something was wrong
Josh needed another transplant.
This time it took a week and on
January 17th -he got his new heart.

Josh is "normal" teen.

house caught fire in Salem.

Crews were called to the Lake
Avenue home around seven o-clock
yesterday evening.
The family noticed smoke in the
basement and used an extinguisher to
put out the fire.
Most of the fire was out when
crews arrived.
Investigators believe a gasoline
container in close proximity to a hot
water heater sparked the flames.
There was minor damage to the
house.
No one was injured.
