morning.

Yesterday afternoon the teen and
another boy were washed over the dam by
strong currents near Lexington.

One was able to get out of the
water, but he could not find his
friend.

go on trial today on fraud charges.

Sometime over the weekend the case was
continued... and is now scheduled to
begin Wednesday.

Hutcherson's lawyers obtained
information late Friday that they
believe will strengthen the Mayor's
defense.

In a letter to the judge Saturday,
Hutcherson's lawyer says the material
he got from the government "conflicts
completely" with the prosecutors'
contentions that Hutcherson stole
Social Security funds.

their "unofficial" quadfest this
weekend, and police say they were just
as busy as last year.

Saturday Officers charged 349 people from
Thursday to Saturday during the annual
spring-time celebration.

That number is down from last
year, when 400 people were charged.

36 people were actually arrested.

That's 10 more people than last
year.

Most of the charges were alcohol-
related, and there were NO reported
rapes or serious injuries.

Police Chief Gary Harmon says
overall people conducted themselves
much better this year than last year.

exploding them in the city.

Last week officers arrested 20
year old Travis Knick Cottrell, and
charged him with five counts of
manufacturing an explosive device.

Police say the New River
Community College student was throwing
the devices out of a second story
window of an apartment on Calhoun
Street.

Colorado woman, when an S-U-V crashed
into her home as she slept.

vehicle before it crashed through the
55- year- old woman's house, leaving
her with severe injuries.

Authorities had earlier stopped the
Chevy Blazer for a traffic violation.

driver's window, he took off, and then

The driver fled again after the
accident, and police are still looking
for him.

first birthday.

But he's not just any pooch-- Snuppy
is the world's first cloned dog.

He had his "birthday party" today at
the university's animal hospital.

Snuppy became embroiled in
controversy in January, when Seoul
National University said his creator,
scientist Hwang Woosuk. had faked all
his research articles that purported to
show his team created stem cells from
the world's first cloned human embryos.

Snuppy the cloned dog was, in fact,
the only one of Hwang's achievements.

Meanwhile, the university's
students are now planning to clone a
female dog, to see if the pair can
re-produce.
