welcome to the Thursday ticker.
The NFL draft is coming up this
weekend and once again a number of
former Hokies and Cavaliers will be on
pins and needles hoping to hear their
names called on either Saturday or
Sunday.
One former Hokie who has done as
much as anyone to help his stock during
the workouts for the pro scouts is
defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis.

GRAPHIC=BAM Finally tonight we close with
something so bizarre it's hard to
believe it happened.
Umpires and managers and players
argue all the time. Some time them
bump each other, but usually that's as
far as it goes.
Not so for the man considered to
be the best player in all of minor
league baseball.

Delmon Young has been
suspended indefinitely by the
International League after throwing a
bat at the homeplate umpire in the
Durham-Pawtucket game. Young took a
called third strike in the first
inning. After the call, Young glared at
the home-plate umpire and did not leave
the batter's box; he had finally taken
a couple of steps toward the dugout
when the umpire ejected him. You then
see the bat fly back into the picture
and whack the umpire.
Last year he also had a run-in
with an umpire and earlier this season
threw his bat after being hit by a
pitch.

his posse have been arrested in London
after a fight that injured seven police
officers.
ENG#=2 VO-NAT
VO-NAT Reports say members of Snoop's
entourage threw bottles of whiskey and
argued with staff at a duty-free shop
after they weren't allowed to go in a
first-class lounge.
Police say some of the group pushed
officers when they were not allowed to
board their flight.
Seven officers got cuts, bruises and
other minor injuries.
Snoop and others were heading to South
Africa for a concert tonight in
Johannesburg.
