GRAPHIC=Hutcherson The trial of Lynchburg Mayor Carl

Hutcherson continues today.

Yesterday, jurors heard the tape of
a telephone conversation between
Reverend Hutcherson and Reverend Jerry

Falwell's SON.

Falwell's Ministry gave 32-thousand
dollars to a new charity set up by
Hutcherson's church in 2004.

Hutcherson was a "good man"- -his
lawyer told the jury.

He just wasn't taking care of his
own personal financial situation.

The Falwells made the charitable
donation, expecting Hutcherson would
take the money, with the understanding
he'd pay it back.

The government says Hutcherson
misappropriated the funds for his own
use, and paid it back only after he got
caught.

Authorities say those killed were

The crash occurred about half-way
between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis,
closing Interstate 69 in both

The collision was apparently so
violent, it ripped open one side of the

Immunization shots against the mumps
are once again being given out today in
Iowa.

(vo)

Clinics opened up on Wednesday offering
free shots to college students.

Iowa is at the center of the worst
mumps outbreak the nation has seen in
decades.

The illness has spread rapidly among
college students.

(wipevo)

As bad as the mumps outbreak is it s
nothing compared to what a flu pandemic
could look like.

Using a computer model scientists say
if a pandemic hits in the next year one
in three Americans will get sick.. even
if the government is well prepared.

While on about 200 people have been
infected worldwide, experts fear the
virus will mutate and start spreading
rapidly among humans.

(wipevo)

A new study finds the potentially
serious pregnancy complication..
pre-eclampsia.. can t be helped with
vitamins C and E.

Earlier studies have shown mixed
results.. but Australian researchers
say the vitamins do nothing to prevent
pre-eclampsia.

Researchers actually found an increased
likelihood pregnant women taking a
vitamin C and E treatment would have to
be hospitalized for high blood
pressure.. prompting the study authors
to warn against high doses of the
vitamins until more test are done.

Those are some of the day s top health
stories.

Five others were injured-- including
the tractor trailer driver.

Authorities say all five of those
killed were students at Taylor
University, which is a Christian
liberal arts college.

The crash occurred about half-way
between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis,
closing Interstate 69 in both
directions.

The collision was apparently so

violent, it ripped open one side of the
van.
