system would not comment on whether the
vice principal has in fact moved her
office.
But an air quality report released
two years ago reveals some students and
staff members had complained about
headaches, irritated eyes, respiratory
problems, and fatigue.
Tests were conducted and found there
was some mold in the school but it
wasn't enough to make people sick.
But here it is two years later and
we're hearing the same complaints.

the fraud trial of Lynchburg Mayor Carl
Hutcherson.

Yesterday, the jury heard from two
of Hutcherson's associates.
They both indicated the church charity
Hutcherson established never authorized
him to take a 32-thousand dollar loan.
The money had been a gift from the
Falwell Ministries- -in the middle of a
re-zoning controversy over an
industrial development project the
Reverend Falwell wanted approved.
A telephone conversation recorded by
the F-B-I makes it clear that the
Falwells intended for Hutcherson to
have the money.
Jerry Falwell, Junior, an attorney,
advised Hutcherson to be sure to
carefully document the transaction as a
loan.

track slid up and whacked, Dave Blaney,
who hit Reed Sorensen.

40 consecutive races in which he was
running at the finish come to an end.
Things got even more interesting
in the closing laps, but the final five
clicked off without incident, despite
some four- wide racing.
In the end, Jimmie Johnson held
off Tony Stewart and his Hendrick
Racing teammate Brian Vickers for the
win.

McMurrray fifth.

They declined an on camera
interview, but said Younger tied one of

a back bedroom and she made the 9-1-1
call...she could hear her roommate

neighbor, Brittany Johnson, arrived

what led up to an altercation between
two neighbors.
Police responded to the 500 block
of Jeter Street around 9:30 last night
after receiving reports of shots being
fired.
Authorities say 25-year-old Jay
W. Creasy of Bedford allegedly fired
several rounds from an assault rifle
into his neighbors bedroom window.
No one was injured.
Creasy was charged with
discharging a firearm into an occupied
dwelling, attempted malicious wounding
and the use of a firearm in the
commission of a felony.
He is being held at the Bedford
Adult Detention Center.

Nancy Royer was just one of the Roanoke
County voters who voiced her concerns
to us in November.
Her complaint was like many the county
received - she pressed the candidate's
name on the screen and nothing
happened.
County records we reviewed show 55
voting machine complaints recorded at
polling stations. They include pressing
one candidate's name -only to have
another pop up, and machines that
would: "lock up," not reset properly or
were generally slow.

was taken seriously and the machines
were inspected.

system would not comment on whether the
vice principal has in fact moved her

But an air quality report released
two years ago reveals some students and
staff members had complained about
headaches, irritated eyes, respiratory

Davida Wingfield testified Hutcherson

When prosecutors asked Wingfield if
the minutes were false, she said they
were.
Prosecutors say the evidence shows
Hutcherson took a 30 thousand dollar
loan from his own church charity.

track slid up and whacked, Dave Blaney,
who hit Reed Sorensen.
Sorenson then slammed into Joe Nemechek

consecutive races in which he was
running at the finish come to an end.
Things got even more interesting
in the closing laps, but the final five
clicked off without incident despite
some four wide racing.
In the end, Jimmie Johnson held
off Tony Stewart and his Hendrick
Racing teammate Brian Vickers for the
win. Jeff Burton was fourth and Jamie
McMurrray fifth.

That's when a medical problem
apparently prevented her from hitting

wasn't hurt and likely won't face any
