scary, I've got my 9 month old son with
me, so I was just wondering.. we're
sitting here right next to the
airplane.. we know those guys got

arrested.. they said there was
suspicious activity.

WORTH TO NEWARK BECAME SUSPICIOUS AFTER
SHE NOTICED ONE OR TWO ARAB MEN READING
FLIGHT MANUALS.

- THEY WERE PART OF A GROUP OF FIVE
ARAB PASSENGERS ONBOARD THE FLIGHT.

AUTHORITIES WERE THEN NOTIFIED ABOUT
THE ACTIVITY.

LANDED IN NEWARK WITHOUT INCIDENT

BOMB SNIFFING DOGS WERE BROUGHT IN TO
SCREEN BAGGAGE AS A PRECAUTION.

OFFICIALS TELL CBS NEWS' THAT THE ARAB
PASSENGERS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY,
QUESTIONED AND RELEASED. THEY ARE NOW

Martinsville are investigating an armed
robbery.

It happened at *Louise's Dress
Shop* on Memorial Boulevard around 9:30
this morning.

The owner of the shop says a man
came into the store and held her at
*knife point* demanding money.

She says the suspect then took
off with a set of keys and a remote
entry device.

Police later arrested a
17-year-old boy near Dupont Road and
Askins Street.

He's being held at a juvenile
detention facility.

yesterday in a helicopter crash in
eastern Afghanistan.

A U-S military spokeswoman says
the military transport helicopter was
conducting combat operations when it
went down.

The spokeswoman says the crash
was not the result of enemy fire.

The soldiers were taking part in
an *offensive* to root out Taliban and

*al-Qaida militants* near the
mountainous border with Pakistan.

Virginia has died in Iraq.

Military officials say
27-year-old Captain Brian *Letendre* of
Woodbridge died Wednesday in combat
operations against enemy forces in the
*Al Anbar* province.

Letendre's family says he was
killed when a suicide vehicle exploded
near him.

It was his second tour of duty in
Iraq.

killed and another was injured this
morning while working on a high-rise
condominium project in Florida.

building -- when a wooden frame
collapsed, dropping them into a
three-foot layer of drying concrete
where they became trapped underneath.

Other workers struggled to free

to the hospital with suspected heart
trouble.

last night at a baseball park in
Baltimore.

Civic Center.

in four years the public has laced up
their skates at the Civic Center.

After the Ice Station closed
down, the city decided to reopen its
rink to the public.

Today's appeared to be low.

Of course, it had some stiff
competition between college graduations
and local festivals.

Public skate is scheduled for the
next two weekends.

And depending on the turnout and
interest, Civic Center officials will
decide whether it will be a permanent
fixture in Roanoke.
