At this farm in suburban
Detroit...federal investigators are
trying to

solve a 30 year mystery. Where is the
body of Teamsters leader Jimmy

Hoffa?

The legendary union boss... was last
seen in 19-75 at a NEARBY

restaurant where he was supposed to
meet with a reputed mob boss about

regaining his power in the teamsters.

After his disappearance rumors have
swirled for years that his remains

could be buried somewhere on this horse
farm.

sot: Deb Koskovich/Neighbor

"We've been here since 1985 and the
first thing our neighbors said, do

you know Hoffa is buried on the
property next to you? He laughed and we

laughed and that was the end of it."

Numerous organized crime figures were

known to gather at this remote

farm and apparently stopped meeting
there after Hoffa vanished.

On top of that.. A mob hitman claimed
from his deathbed in march that

hoffa was buried in michigan.

Over the years, the search for Hoffa
has spawned many rumors...including

sensational speculation that he's
buried beneath an end zone in Giant's

Stadium.

(natz aerial)

Federal agents say their current search
is based on information

developed years ago and verified more
recently.

They are not offering details on the
precise digging location. And With

The farm 80 acres.. That leaves many
other places to look... for the

labor leader who mysteriously
disappeared more than 3 decades ago.

--LEAD IN--

, IT'S A SKILL THAT COULD LEAVE THE
PAGES IN YOUR LIBRARY

"DOG-EARED."

--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS--

HOW MANY MANY OWNERS CAN SAY THIS ABOUT
THEIR DOGS...

He's been reading for about two years
now

YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT?

Yes good boy

STILL DON'T BELIEVE IT?

Yes!

WELL, BELIEVE THIS.

What's it say? bark. yes!!!!!

OKAY, SO A NOVEL MIGHT BE TOO MUCH...

Want to do some light reading? (drop
War and Peace) c'mon war and peace.
it'll

just take a minute.

"TEACH YOUR DOG TO READ" MAKES NO BONES
ABOUT IT..."OK YOU'RE RIGHT. YOUR DOG

WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO READ THIS BOOK."
BUT IT MIGHT TEACH HIM THE BASICS.

Kiss noise yes!

You can teach a dog to read 2 or 3
words in space of 15 to 20 minutes/
once you

see that, then you know it's real.

BONNIE BERGIN IS CONSIDERED A PIONEER

IN ASSISTANCE DOG TRAINING.

c'mon pups pups pups!!!

SHE FOUNDED THE ASSISTANCE DOG
INSTITUTE IN SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA.
HER NEW

BOOK SHOWS HOW TO USE FLASH CARDS TO
TEACH DOGS TO READ. BUT IS IT ACTUALLY

READING?

They're looking at it as an abstract
symbol

FIRST YOU SHOW THE CARD AND SAY THE
COMMAND A FEW TIMES.

roll! panting

THEN YOU GRADUATE TO FLASHING THE CARD
WITHOUT SAYING THE WORD.

good boy

A REWARD IS CRUCIAL. THOUGH THE TREAT
TENDS TO BE MORE POWERFUL THAN THE

WRITTEN WORD...

Cass is this what you're looking for.

ouch give me a kiss ahhh

THE FLASHCARDS GET HARDER...

2 letters, 3 letters, 3 words

AND THOUGH DOGS HAVE MASTERED AS MANY
AS 20 WRITTEN COMMANDS, WE ALSO SAW A
LOT

OF GUESSING. WHEN SHOWN THE COMMAND
DOWN...NORTON FIRST TRIED TO SPEAK...

nat little woof

THEN HE DID A TURN, AND ONLY THEN DID
HE GO DOWN. MOMENTS LATER, HE
APPARENTLY

MISTOOK "SHAKE" FOR "SPEAK."

What's it say? Bark

BUT WHEN HE WAS SHOWN "SPEAK" UPSIDE
DOWN....

little growl noise he's doin' it

WE MADE UP A FEW OF OUR OWN FLASHCARDS
...

Scratch card bark! bark! guess she
doesn't want to join

run spot run. and another one of your
literary favorites

BUT SERIOUSLY, FOLKS, WHY TEACH DOGS TO
READ?

we're looking for ways to stretch their
minds

SO INSTEAD OF JUST SPLASHING AROUND THE
POOL,

Hi we'd like to know where the canine
section is

HEAD FOR THE BOOKSTORE TOGETHER...

see anything that appeals to you?

Cassie a little beach reading?

NEXT THING YOU KNOW SHE'LL BE MAP
READING...

north south east west

INSTEAD OF WAR AND PEACE...

only a thousand pages to go Cass.

HOW ABOUT THE DOGGIE EQUIVALENT OF A
ROMANCE NOVEL...

Good boy!
